Charge Your Electric Car With Street Lamps In London

Do you have an electric car and forgot to charge them? Don’t worry the new technology is introduced for drivers to charge their cars through street lamps.
This shows that you never neglect the power of technology. German company Ubitricity has developed such project to install at different street lamps. There is a socket available for drivers to charge their cars and a simple process to charge. The owners of the smart car should need to order a charging cable with an in-built electricity meter.
London brought this system:
The London is now partnering with Energy Company and especially ubitricity to install 50 new charging points. They will install into council lamp posts and use the Ubitricity Simple Sockets technology for charging the electric cars.
This is one of the best projects of London’s street and will draw 100 percent renewable energy. The drivers pull energy from the same source as the lamp post lights.
This project is actually getting the attention of the people and politics member due to needs of people. A major problem for the electric car owners is lack of a cohesive charging network. This project will increase the charging points for the car owners and enhance the infrastructure of a region.
They have also cleared that no additional increment of power in lamp post infrastructure. This means we don’t need to provide extra power supply to the lamps. We are actually working for a better infrastructure of London’s street.
Changing the bulbs up to LED and this will consume less power as compared to previous one. This will free up a bunch of power on each lamp post to be used for charging.
These all happening because many people in the region don’t have right access for charging electric cars. There is an absence of electric sockets and either doesn’t have off-set parking to charge car. These charging points are the solution for EV parking bays and removing parking spaces and residents will charge car locally.
This will help the drivers to charge their cars with lamps and tackle air pollution in the region. This system also remains cheaper for a government as they used pre-installed street lamps. They don’t have to give another space for charging and buy other equipment.
This remains easy for government budget – while drivers just need to buy a special cable to access power from lamp posts. The cable can be used for other networks but you have to pay for their subscriptions.
There is a shortage of charging points and this is a reason people never buy electric cars. But providing sockets with lamps is just like parking a car and a big step to attract public towards electric car.
